We believe in the transformative power of shared experiences and the importance of mentorship - even across continents and cultures.
We connect accomplished women in North America, Europe and Asia with female high school students in Tanzania. Based on the students' interests and aspirations, we match them with speakers who then share their life experiences and advice with them through Zoom. Speakers have included entrepreneurs, bankers, university professors. healthcare professionals and doctors, social activists, and college students.
I am Emma Demopoulos. At 12 years of age, I achieved my dream of becoming one of the youngest Hong Kongers to ever summit Africa's highest peak.
But my dream couldn't have been realized without the wonderful local crew who provided me with support, hot water bottles and infectious cheer. I felt a special camaraderie with these Tanzanians after spending eight (challenging) days with them on the mountain. Their kindness and hospitality lingered in my memory long after the climb.
After learning about the SEGA Girls' School, I came up with multiple ideas on giving back to Tanzania. I dragged my dad up Kilimanjaro, and I dragged him to found the Dreamer Program with me in the spring of 2024. I hope that through the program, more girls can achieve their dreams just as I did mine.
